Terms of Service

These terms are valid as of 06/01/2025.
Failure to abide by these terms will result in the client being blacklisted from future commissions and work opportunities.

GENERAL

  • You must be 18 years or older to commission work from me.

  • You must have usage rights to all references and designs provided for your commission.

  • AI-generated and text references will not be accepted.

  • I, the artist, retain all rights to the work I produce. This includes use of the work for self-promotion, as example work in sales of commissions, the right to redistribute, and the right to reproduce the work, unless an agreement is made stating otherwise. For personal commissions, I may post these works to my social media with proper credit to the client for ownership of the character’s design.

USAGE

  • All commissions are personal use only. The client is not allowed to use the finished work for unauthorized commercial purposes or monetization.

  • Commercial commissions must be discussed beforehand, and will require a one-time fee on a case-by-case basis. Commercial usage covers anything that garners revenue and includes but is not limited to promotional material, streaming or video assets, cover art, logo creation, and merchandise.

  • Finished artwork is only to be reposted with proper credits to any of my social media as @noirneru using the provided watermarked version. I do not give permission for my art to be used without credit, nor do I give permission for my art to be edited or altered. Editing / cropping out my watermark will result in a permanent blacklist from future commissions.

  • My artwork, commissioned or otherwise, is not authorized to be used for generative-AI, NFT (Non Fungible Token), or cryptocurrency purposes.

PAYMENT

  • Upon accepting the client's commission, a reservation fee of 25% will be requested to reserve their slot. Only when I am ready to begin work on their commission will I request the full amount (not including the 25% already paid). I will not begin work until the commission has been paid in full. For payments exceeding $250, payment plans are negotiable.

  • Payments will be sent via Stripe invoice in USD. Invoices exceeding $500 USD will be sent through Wise transfer. An account is not required for either, but encouraged for ease-of-use, especially for returning clients.

  • The client is only eligible to request a refund if I have not started on their commission, to which they will then be refunded their reservation fee. If the commission has been paid in full, and the finished work has not been delivered within 6 months (from the date of full payment provided), then the client is welcome to request a full refund. Forced refund via chargeback is prohibited.

  • Should the client wish to cancel their commission while it is in progress (beyond the sketch stage), a kill fee of +20-100% will be charged depending on the work completed. In canceling their commission, the client forfeits all personal usage rights to the artwork provided.

PROCESS

  • My designated work days are Friday to Monday, and I will only respond to work emails and messages within this period.

  • I will strive to complete the finished work within a 1 to 3 month timeframe and do my best to respect the client's time, but please keep in mind that I may take longer due to reasons that are out of my control, such as health complications.

  • I may reach out for feedback or clarification during certain stages, but I will not provide frequent updates for my own personal comfort. Updates will only be given for major points throughout the work's completion (e.g. lineart, shading, etcetera). The client is welcome to reach out for updates at any point, and I will respond promptly, so long as their requests do not exceed more than once per week.

  • Major edits may only be requested during the sketching / concept phase (pose changes, significant color edits, etcetera). Beyond this point, any significant edits will incur additional fees depending on complexity. Minor changes and/or artist error (e.g. wrong color, missing accessory) are free of charge.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do you have any tips for drawing [...]?
I'm not the best person to ask for advice on drawing. I am completely self-taught, and everything I have learned was through free resources like YouTube and lots of drawing over the years. The best advice I can give is to draw without worrying about what is 'correct'. I prioritize passion over perfection.
How long have you been drawing?
I've always drawn since I was a kid, but I started taking art 'seriously' in 2020.
Which brushes do you use?
The brushes I use fluctates really often, so I can't recommend just one specific set. Feel free to ask me what I'm using at the time and I'll provide!
What is your canvas setup?
I go with a standard A4 resolution [2480 x 3508 pixels, 300 ppi] in case I want to print anything I make.
How old are you?
21+.
What program / tablet do you use to draw?
I work in Clip Studio PAINT on a XP-Pen Artist 24.
